Several months ago we read Bill Bryson's "A Walk in the Woods" in book club. Having grown up near the Applachian trail, I was very interested in his mission to hike the entire trail. Of course he failed miserably, but he had some hilarious commentary.

Today at lunch we found out that a coworker here, Portia, is heading out in March to hike the trail from Georgia to Maine. It will take her six months to complete. We have been grilling her all day on the details. I wish her the best of luck and am eager to recieve updates from her along the way.
