Oscar and I went to Sarah's pool party yesterday, and Oscar spent a good deal of time floating adrift on a raft. He wasn't upset, but he also didn't express any interest in jumping back in anytime soon.

He did however love hanging out with Molly and Murphy. They are good pals. They tried to be wherever the hamburgers were. I occupied myself by eating hamburgers, sipping lemon drop margaritas (alcohol free for me.. boke boke) ... and holding wee babies.

  4. Tilly, Sorry... I am just allergic to alcohol. It makes my throat swell up and then I boke. Always have been.

  5. I actually went and looked up my symptoms concerning alcohol and found something called "flushing" that affects Asian Americans.

  6. I'm of Asian descent and have the "flush" problem (understatement of the year - I get beet red, my heart starts racing...). It's actually an enzyme deficiency common in Asians. Aldehyde dehydrogenase (or alcohol deyhdrogenase) is responsible for breaking down alcohol; in 50% of Asians, it's inactive or exists in too low of levels.

  7. I'm allergic to alcohol, too. I couldn't figure out what was going on until my allergist told me I was allergic to molds and mildews. Hence the reactions to wine and beer.

I experience all of the signs for "flushing", but I'm not Asian American. Hmmm.....

  8. AWww, I love that photo of all three dogs! The way it's composed and how Oscar's leaning a bit way in the back. It's SO cute! I want to get a dog so bad. In fact, I went to the pound 2 days ago and took one for a walk. We may have to wait until after our Ireland trip, tho, I hate to get a dog and then leave so soon. Anyway, great photos! :D
