Aaron is generally a passive participant in my blogging activities. So I was surprised when he asked if I was going to blog about our anniversary... he even found a pic of my gift online so I could post it.

Yep... we celebrated our First Year Anniversary at the beach. For those of you that clicked through the 237 digital pictures, you saw us cutting the top of the wedding cake we saved. I am so proud I kept that in the freezer all year and never pecked at it once.

As for the gift... I figured Aaron had been saving and plotting all year for this... he had me open it first thing in the morning. He got me a really cute Mikimoto pearl necklace. He also had a little speech prepared... something about the pearl being like a first year of marriage.. sand... rough times... oyster... unfortunately my eyes had already glazed over and I was trying to get the clasp open so I missed most of that.

  9. Aww.cute. What a nice necklace. I saw you doing the cake thing on your photos- cute!! Guess what? Brian didn't know that we were supposed ot save the top of our cake and Eagle Vale asked him if he wanted it and he said no. Well, obviously I wasn't there so I found out later and was like "what the hell!" but hey it made for a good story. Our cake was the Orange Brandy Torte from Cheesy Eddies. We plan to order one each year on our anniversary now (which is coming up faster than you'd think!).
