For some reason I decided that I really wanted to hang clothes outside to dry. I think it reminds me of summer, because my mom always hung her clothes out to dry in the summertime.

So Aaron strung a line from the house to the garage on hooks the previous owner left behind. I washed a load of towels, hung them up and the yard smelled so nice.

  1. Hehe...I think it's funny that your clean towels made the yard smell nice. Usually, it's the other way around! ;-)

  2. Any tips for making line dried things nice and soft? Line drying always seems to make everything so stiff!

  3. This will save you $$ on your electric bill, *and* it's good for the enviroment. I use liquid fabric softner, and toss the clothes in the dryer for just a minute to soften them up when they seem stiff :-)

  4. I love the smell of sun dryed clothes. Sheets are my favorite thing to line dry. There is just something very relaxing about dozing off under sheets that smell like summer. Too bad we can't line dry stuff where we now live. It's against some sort of home owners' association policy. bah!

  5. You gotta watch out tho- for people like me with seasonal allergies, my doctor recommended not to do this because the pollen floating around sticks to the clothes :(

  6. I recommend the "retractable clothes line." I have two of them and love them. Rope tends to weigh down easy and not stay taut. And bonus, these disappear when you don't want to see them.

I think I got them at lowes a while back.
