butternut

We just harvested the last of our garden for the year. The final crop was our butternut and acorn squash.

I have pictures of this year's garden on My Gallery.

soup

Aaron made yummy butternut squash soup, but I forgot to take a picture of it so all I have is a picture of the soup tureens we ate it out of. This recipe is really good, esp if you put a dollop (or two) of creme fraiche on top.

herbs

I also moved all my herbs inside and now my dining room smells like sage and rosemary. Yum.

sunflowers

I have pictures of some of this year's flowers on My Gallery too.

I can't tell if you have rosemary in that great herb garden, but if you do, be careful with it around your kitty. My Puff got into it and it made him nuts. Like catnip times 100! I'm so going to miss my herb garden, but I don't think I have a window sunny enough for it.

I also thought of Stu right away. Herbs don't make my cats crazy, but they love the taste, so I would have empty sticks about five minutes after bringing in plants. I'd keep an eye on those plants for nibbles!

Stewie hasn't bothered them yet. He isn't even into catnip! Weird cat!

I am very interested in putting up fencing like you have done. How long did your first one last till you felt you needed to replace it?

We had it for five years before we replaced it. And it wasn't the bamboo that went bad.... the wire that held it together broke.
