I took this picture for Aaron. (I changed the plates in case you are wondering)

When Aaron found out Smart Cars were coming to the US, he got on the reservation program list. Everyday he checks his inbox for the "Come and pick up your Smart Car!" email. He plans on parking his truck and driving this and his scooter everywhere he needs to go.

Today I pulled up behind a Smart Car at a light on my way to work. I scrambed for my camera so he would know.... they're here!

They are here! I drive by the dealer (Mercedes) every morning on the way to work! I think they started selling them on February 12th, but that could vary by state.

I saw a couple of yellow ones bopping down the road a couple of weeks back, & that was in our rural neck of the woods so
I guess they are everywhere!

I've seen a bunch here too (Silicon Valley/Bay Area) and I love them, even zooming on the freeway. We have two kids, so it doesn't really work for us.

Very cool! I saw those in Paris many years ago--glad to see we are finally getting them too!

Oohhh.....my husband and I want one, too.

I heard they can't go over 60-65 mph. Is that true? I could never get on the highway if it is, people would plow right over me the way people drive around here.

Is that snow?! My daughter and I were out splashing in her kiddie pool today! I have to admit it would've been fun to be building a snowman instead :)

Smart cars are new in the US? Whoa! I didn't think that anything came to Canada first, but I guess I can learn something new every day!

I can't wait to see what Aaron picks!

Oh, I saw those at the auto show in LA a few months back, and they are definitely here.

The ones I saw though had seats that didn't move and didn't have nearly enough legroom for me (I'm 5'10" and apparently mostly legs. heh). I think Aaron is quite a bit taller than that though, so I'll hope for you guys that some models have seats that move!!!

You'll have to review the Smart vs. your Mini. I'm debating both and don't know anyone who has both. Let alone a scooter, too. With gas prices, though, I could be giving my jetta (Irmi) a sibling! ; )

I picked up my Smart car on Feb. 1, and now it's hard to get me out of it. Some days I drive just for driving's sake. It's cheaper than seeing a movie and isn't fattening.

And, yes, the Smart can go. I've done 70 mph on the freeway, where it sure got some stares and a lot of smiles.

My husband and I saw a dealership as we drove home from Schenectady. It was not too far from the Albany airport. I thought of you when we stopped so he could hop out and look at them. They are awfully small.

My mother has one of these - hers is lime green.
