Oscar's Red Carpet Bleacher experience

For one of my most interesting assignments for my job, I got to go Hollywood to sit in the Oscar's red carpet bleachers.

I was what is referred to as a "bleacher fan".

There were so many stars, I was constantly snapping away with my camera.

I was able to zoom in really close. Tina this one is for you.

I did get to step onto the red carpet for a moment, when we were herded across the street to the El Capitan to watch the awards ceremony on the big screen.

What an amazing experience! You can read and see more pictures over on 1000Words blog.

Mexican Chocolate Cookies

My coworkers and I baked several different Betty Crocker cookie recipes to celebrate a partnership with Betty Crocker. You can read about it on 1000 Words blog.

I made the Mexican Chocolate Cookies, which was convienent because I had Mexican chocolate tablets leftover from the baked apples I made for my Halloween dinner.

I love using this Mexican chocolate... it's called Abuelita and is made by Nestle. Abuelita means "little grandmother" and there is picture of one on the packaging. I like it for hot chocoate, but it can be used for many things.

It was very good in these cookies! Note the super cool carried Aaron made me to carry the cookies in. He made it out of two used clementine boxes. Crafty!

Summer projects

Today I featured two summer photo projects on 1000 Words. Trying to hold onto that last bit of the season.

Photo Drink Umbrellas - if you make a bunch each with different photos you can use them to keep track of which drink is yours.

Photo Lanterns - not for use with real flame. They look cool hanging in a group. You could put led lights inside.

When my sister graduated last weekend it was quite the event. That's me snapping one of hundreds of pictures of her from the day. To celebrate, I made her some congratulation balloon tags.

I blogged about them on 1000Words today and they are also a project on the Tips and Projects Center. On the project page you can download the greeting tags too.

You can also use this idea for Birthdays. Yes, I made myself a birthday balloon. Is that cheeky?

I wrote a post on 1000Words about Around the Table Panoramic pictures. I think it's a cool way to take pictures of your friends and family when you are gathered around a table together. Check it out and leave a comment there of what you think.

Yesterday, I wrote on 1000 Words about going to the Celebrity Apprentice After Party. With my new Chief Blogger role I might be doing more of that kind of thing. I gotta brush up on my interviewing skills.

Last week I wrote on 1000 Words about some of the April Fools pranks we have played at the office. Behold the Newspaper Desk.

And the Balloon Cubicle.

You can read more about them and see more pictures on 1000 Words.

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!

in an effort to combine St. Patrick's Day and the looming Easter holiday, I made shamrock Easter eggs. You can read about how I made these photo eggs with decoupage glue and blown eggs on 1000 Words today.

. You can leave me a comment there if you want... it's sadly commentless

Today on 1000 Words I wrote about the partnership between Kodak Gallery and slide.com. You can now access your photos on the Gallery to make slideshows on slide.com.

Here is one I made with pictures of Domo.

There are more slideshows I made on 1000 Words.

It's hard to stop making them with every combination of skins and themes.

Remember the Mexican Wrestler exhibit I wrote about a week ago? Well, you can download a printable mask from that exhibit on 1000 Words. So if the Oscar and Stewie masks weren't your thing, you have an alternative.

masks

I have two Halloween inkjet projects over at 1000 Words today. The first are Oscar and Stewie masks. Everyone in the office agrees they are eerie looking.

masks

If you aren't sure what to be for Halloween you could go as a pug or a kitty.

lolly

There are also downloadable templates for Halloween Oscar and Stewie lollipop covers. Kinda like my lollipop cozies but faster and easier to put together.

lolly

Oscar and Stewie are demanding compensation for the use of their likeness. Greedy little critters.

To download the pdf templates and see instructions on how to make the masks and lollipop covers check out 1000 Words.

I made these Oscar and Stewie photo votive candle holders with some votive cups, transparency paper and my Kodak All-in-One inkjet printer.

We are back from California. I didn't publish the posts I wrote while I was there because I couldn't bear to pay the $20 a day for hotel internet... grrrr.

A little jet lagged, but fondly remembering the trip... esp Jamba Juice and In-n-Out Burger.

Check out 1000 Words today... I write more about the races and all. Leave me comments there!
