Stuffing Waffel - It's a good idea

After hearing about stuffing waffles I couldn't stop thinking about it. My mom caved and let me shovel leftover Thanksgivng stuffing into her waffle maker.

It turned out just as fantastic as you think it would. The outside is crispy and the inside warm and delicous. Pour on some turkey gravy and shredded turkey and float away to leftover heaven.

Glorious Thanksgiving Leftovers

I love turkey leftovers and my mom really hit it out of the park by making waffles and serving them up with leftover turkey gravy and turkey. I think it makes total sense... it's like chicken and waffles but with turkey!

As soon as I posted photos of our turkey and waffles, I heard from several friends about stuffing waffles. The idea is to fill a waffle iron with leftover stuffing and cooking into a warm, crispy waffle shape. Some recipes add eggs or stock to the stuffing before adding to the waffle maker. Either way I think this is a fab idea and might have to make some more stuffing just to try it out.

Turkey leftovers

After we grilled the turkey last weekend, we ended up with lots of leftovers. We have been feasting on turkey all week. First night was hot turkey open sammiches. Then turkey bacon clubs (with grilled bacon!)

And then turkey noodle casserole! I'm taking some turkey home to my mom to make turkey salad sammiches this weekend too!
