Sauce vs Gravy: Red Pack Carnevale Giveaway

Lent begins this year on February 18, so the Carnival celebration before Lent begins runs from February 13 to 17. In Italy it is Carnavale, like the famous Carnival of Venice. The Carnival of Venice is where the well known carnival masks come from.

What better to enjoy during Carnival than some delicious Italian pasta? Red Pack has lots of recipes like this one for Italian Gravy. Growing up I had only known of tomato sauce. To me, gravy meant beef or chicken gravy poured over mashed potatoes. Here is a little history as to why this red sauce that simmers all Sunday afternoon is called gravy.

Red Pack sent me a few cans of tomatoes to try and I am absolutely going to give Italian Gravy a shot my next available Sunday.

Holiday ScentSicle Winner.... (and cats)

Congratulations to Deanna, the winner of my holiday Scentsicle giveaway! Thank you to everyone who entered!

Scentsicles goodie box giveaway

Last year I saw Scentsicles at Target and brought a tube home. We always have a live tree but Aaron loves the smell of pine. They make it smell like Christmas. I love the Keep Calm and Carry On posters and I love all the creative renditions that people have come up with since the original first came on the scene on the internet.

The husband of one of my blog readers makes some really fun iPhone apps like the Cat-O-Matic which I love playing to make Stewie come running.

This new app - Keep Calm and Carry On - lets you create your very own "Keep Calm" posters for your phone. I love the pug design of course and could come up with dozens of pug posters.

This one is a good reminder for me.

And because #1 you gotta feel bad for her and #2 kudos for being brave enough to talk about her big pink hemmorroid pillow... here is the second winner...

It looks so cute and just the right size for my pillow, by big pink rubber round donut pillow, that I just got for my broken butt :-) Fractured my tailbone and they tell me not to sit for a few weeks...how the heck do you do that? So I go get a big stinky rubber pillow and notice they try to make it look prettier by having a flower design around the edge...but really I don't want to have to explain to everyone why I'm carrying a big pink hemmorroid pillow with me everywhere I go, so pick me! :-)
