Aaron's grandfather passed away on Tuesday, so we had to drive to PA for the funeral and stuff. It was pretty sad, he is the first grandparent either of us have lost.

I remember going Aaron's grandparent's house and we always had to leave with something... whether it was a glass insulator from the collection in the garage or a jar of his grandfathers special tomato juice. I don't know if he knew how much I love those blue bubbly glass insulators. He will be missed.

  1. My dad collects those insulators, too. He has done some neat things with them. What have you done with yours?

  4. i hope that you will find comfort in your memories of Aaron's grandfather, and my thoughts are with you both. an uncle that's very near and dear to me also collects insulators; it's funny how something so small, seen on the side of the road can remind you of somebody who played such a big part in your life. -natalie

  8. My thoughts and prayers are with Aaron and you and his family. I lost my mother earlier this year and I miss her so much. The pain will diminish, but you'll never forget about your loved one.

  9. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Grandparents rule! Mine always had a stash of Hello Kitty things in the attic, and whenever we came over, they'd tell me and my sister to go grab something.

  16. :( That's so sad! It's so hard to lose grandparents. During the first year we were married we both lost our remaining grandfathers ... but at least they made it to the wedding... we have awesome memories from that time.

  17. So sorry to hear about your loss. I'm glad you have great memories to hold on to. I have a few of those insulators, too, they make a great decoration in a glass cabinet. Some people stare at them and wonder what they are.
Again, I'm truly sorry for your loss.
