Last Christmas my sister got me this metal star. They are really popular back home in PA. Since Aaron is on spring break he is getting all sorts of chores done. He just spray painted the star a terra cotta and hung it on the garage for me. I love it!

  2. I hate to say this, but it sort of...looks like the red communist star...maybe if it were a different color? Like a deep blue or purple or something? Sorry...I don't mean to sound horrible by saying that. :(

  3. It does look a little dark in the picture... I had to adjust the image because it was in a shadow. It is actually a terra cotta color. More orangey.

  4. I posted the red star comment and I feel bad about it. I didn't mean to say that I don't like the star, because I actually love the idea of the giant star on your garage, it just struck me that it looked like that upon first glance, I think, because of the way the terra cotta color photographed. (It doesn't matter what I think anyway. lol!) Anyway, what I really wanted to say was that the photos you post of your projects and cute things are hugely appreciated by the people fortunate enough to have found your blog. :)

  6. It's funny that you posted your star today because I just finished watching 'Falling Angels' which is a Canadian film based on a novel by Barbara Gowdy. The mother in the family drank a lot of some kind of liquor which came with a small gold star stuck on the bottle that was shaped very similar to yours. The daughters took the stars off and had them stuck all over the place.

  7. Hi Jenny,

I just got home from Japan where I visited Sapporo and that's what your star reminded me of. There are stars all over the city because Sapporo is the north star of Japan and that is why Sapporo beer has the star on it (100 years with the polaris logo it says).

    Very nice,
    Erin

  8. Someone beat me to it...
I was gonna say, "someone has been spray painting a square object." I'm laughing with you, though. I have a similar spot in my garage. Hey, it was raining and I was impatient.

  9. I had spray painted some butterflys in the driveway and liked how they left the outline, so when I was spray painting a filing cabinet, I just left it mark the driveway. Doesn't look as cool as the butterflys but it amuses me. Bugs the heck outta Aaron.
