As some of you may already know, it is my life goal to see as many brandmobiles as possible. I wasn't doing too great with just the Peeps Bus and the Planters NutMobile under my belt, but today I saw the grandaddy of all brandmobiles.

The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile. I saw a sign at Pittsford Wegmans on Friday night and as soon as I dropped Aaron off at the airport this morning, I headed over. I have more pictures in my EasyShare Gallery.

It was smaller than I expected but the craftsmanship and attention to detail is superb. And I got a hot dog whistle.

  1. WOW! Your photos are hilarious. I had no idea there was so much detail inside. I always thought it was just a giant fiberglass hot dog strapped to a car. I stand corrected.

  2. Ha! Love the photos. In case you need a Wienermobile fix, you can always hop over to Dearborn, Michigan, home to The Henry Ford Museum, where they have one as part of their collection. Plus, it's just an all-around coolio museum.

  3. That is too cool that you got to see "the dog." My boss used to drive one when he was in college, and he has one of the little whistles on his desk.

  4. It's neat to see, no? It was always around when we lived in WI. It always stayed at this little hotel down the road from us. We also saw an exhibit about Brooks Stevens, the guy who put the bun on the weiner mobile. HeHe!

  5. PS. Meant to tell you: Cooking Light had a recipe last month (I think) for zucchini chips. It should be on their website. They look divine.

  6. We'll never get to see cool stuff like that here, unless some proud sponsor decides to generously ship their brand-mobile here via canoe.

Ps...Years ago, I sent away for whistles! They were cool to send two!

  9. I am actually somewhat surprised no one has decided to be offended by the hot dog whistle. Glad but surprised.

    I want one.

  11. One time I saw the Meow Mix bus on the 390 when I lived in Rochester. Imagine, just driving down 390 and there is a giant purple cat on the oposing lane... http://www.meowmix.com/newsevents/meowswheels.asp
