Remember back in April when we were jumping for joy because a Coldstone Creamery was coming to Pittsford Plaza?

Well, it opened today and do I have a story to tell. We were standing in line when the manager came up to us holding a print out from that very April 17 post, asking if we were the people in the picture.

Turns out when he was looking for CC franchises, he did a search for Pittsford Plaza and found my jubilous post. The rest is history.

Was it our enthusiasm that convinced him to move here? Did we in some small way help bring ice cream heaven to Rochester? I don't know, but he gave us free ice cream coupons. (Yes, Chuck is holding an unconcious child in that picture. His poor niece fell asleep in the car and missed all the excitement.)

  5. No no! Chuck's holding a little girl who PASSED OUT FROM THE EXCITEMENT!!!

Poetic licence. not a bad thing on occasion.

We didn't have time to get our cake batter stuff last trip to indy. After getting the only sucky quiznos I've ever had close by...I don't think I'll complain about the occasional drive for this.

  12. I remember that post - and i remembered it and all the comments about the cake batter flavor when i visited my first CSC here in STL, however due to Red Pan month they're currently not offering cake batter. So i've yet to sample that piece of heaven.

  13. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I just read that Cake Batter is no more at any Cold Stone Creamery due to salmonella precautions.

Looks like my mom's prohibition on raw cake and cookie batter wasn't so crazy after all.

  14. That last comment made me go to coldstonecreamery.com and they have a section about wanting your cakebatter so I put down my e-mail address to be alerted when it returns. Cause man, there would be no other reason for us to go back without that. Ever. I had a cake batter ice cream today from another company that was ok...but it was not my coldstone.

  16. hey...I,too, will be opening a coldstone creamery in the rochester area-in fact, in Webster at the new Webster Towne Center in March and I,too, saw your pic when last April and loved it. Also, no fear cake batter is back soon and better than ever!
