One of the best things about Rochester in the fall is apple picking. Fresh crunchy apples right off the tree. We went last Sunday. I picked a whole bunch of mini apples... so cute. All the pictures are in My Gallery and the best ones in Flickr.

Even though I knew going to Tennessee would be interesting, I didn't want to leave my house full of apples, cider, candy apples, grapes and elderberry pie. I hope Aaron left some for me when I get back.

  1. Jenny,
I totally agree with you on the New York apples. That happens to be probably the biggest thing I miss about the Rochester area was the delicious empire apples and fresh-milled cider. We have apples in NC but for some reason they just don't cut it. :)

  3. Hehe! We went apple picking last sundsay too. CO apples are waaaay small in comparison to WI apples where we went last time, but the dogs had a great time and we got to eat loads of yummy little apples. I'm cooking w/ store bought this year tho. If u peeled the ones we picked, half of them would be gone.

PS. I just read a book set in Rochester (well Brockport, actually ... is that a real city?) and the family in it is always going to Wegmans!! I thought of you.

  4. I went a few weeks ago while visiting D.C. although I live in NYC. It was my first time and ALOT of fun. I picked a few mini apples myself. Hope your trip is going well.
