First veggie pickup

Although we loved the CSA farm we belonged to last year, it was more than a half hour drive away. It wasn't the best thing to be driving there and back each week. This year we have switched to Wndy Meadow Farms which delivers everyone's produce to drop off locations and we only have a mile to pick up our veggies. We can even walk there or take our scooters.

This week was our first veggie pickup. We even got to choose what we wanted. We selected potatos, radishes, spinach but no... absolutely no cilantro. We are cilantro tastes like soap people. Well, they still gave us cilantro anyhow. That's okay. The radishes were really good.

  3. I am a card-carrying cilantro lover, so pop that bunch into an envelope and send it down to New Jersey!

    (naturally, I kid)

    Those radishes look divine.

  4. It's so interesting to see what everyone's getting from their CSAs... we're all greens and radishes down here. I've really got to figure out what to do with all of these greens!

Our CSA is about 20 min away which isn't my favorite either. They have pick-ups in about 4 different locations all pretty far from us. Boo ...

  10. Whew! I thought I was the only person who didn't like cilantro. When a dish I order unexpectedly has cilantro in it, I will actually sit there and pick out every bit before taking a bite.

  12. They have to give you the cilantro because no one wants it so they sneak it in anyway lol.

  13. This summer from the CSA we belong to in AZ we get peaches, melons, onions, potatoes, beans. In the fall we were getting a lot of greens... Maybe the climate allows for a wide variety.

I pick up my share on my scooter too!

    (BTW - love your blog!)

  15. The drop off locations make it much easier. We just renewed our CSA for the summer - the spring did mean lots of lettuce and greens, but now I'm a master of cooking swiss chard! :) It seems like the greens time is over here and we're moving on to zucchini and squashes. They never offered cilantro though, boo!

  16. Thanks to you we joined a CSA ourselves. They are an hour away, but also have drop off locations - very close to my house.

I love Cilantro - but I live in Texas. It is a must. As a former Buffaloian Mexican food (including guacamole) has grown on me.

No need to send me some, I grow it in my backyard.
