Cocopop

A little bit ago the Pittsford Wegmans got an interesting addition to their tea bar.

It's a Coco Pop Machine that pops out yummy corn/wheat/rice cakes. It's really entertaining to watch... they really do pop out of the machine... so much so that there are plastic guards to keep them from flying across the store.

The machine website says a characteristic is "show and tell"... that it attracts customers via all 5 senses. This is so true. You cannot help but be drawn in by the loud popping noise and popping action. Aaron and I stood and watched it for quite awhile.

They are so tasty too. Our favorite way to eat them is with peanut butter and sliced bananas on top.

They are low calorie, no preservatives, zero fat/cholesterol and no sugar. Nice!

  1. We have that machine at the local Super H Mart -- my Wegman's is too far away to be a regular stop. They are best when they are fresh!

  2. I LOVE these! We have them at a local market in New Jersey - they are great with all sorts of things I often go with salsa or hummus, but the girl at the store suggested making ice cream sandwiches with them... mmm... HUGE ice cream sandwiches! :)

  4. As another person said, we also have them at our H Mart (in NJ). The man that makes them there hands them out free to shoppers all day long. They are tasty!

  6. I do not have a local Wegman's either. I just happened to stop at one en route to work. I was instantly hooked on these things too. They're GREAT as an anytime snack. Wish there was something other than regular rice cakes that was equivalent to the cocopop in my local supermarkets.
