ReplyDeleteI like to collect vintage tins. I especially like to pose old tins with their modern counterparts (for products that have been around a long time -- like Morton Salt, Bon Ami, or Van Houton Cocoa).

ReplyDeleteI love all sorts of vintage stuffs especially those with cardinals on them, my Nana collected them & bunnies, so they tug at me when I see em, especially when hidden in a pattern of fabric or something.
Im a Muppet/Henson collector & Paddington Bear collector that cant seem to find any Paddington stuffs lol. The older, the better. Its like striking gold when I do! I have to stop it at Muppets though, because seeing old late 70's-early 80's fave toys gets me dangerously giddy. I imagine myself in one of those old Nickelodeon/Toys R Us shopping spree commercials, going crazy dumping everything into my cart! lol

ReplyDeleteI have a whole tin (the old cookie kind) full of buttons that belonged to my grandmother. I love to look through them because they remind me of when I was a child and spent time with her in her sewing room (where she still occasionally would use her old pedal powered sewing machine!) I love to knit and so someday I would to make some things that would incorporate those old buttons to give away to family members to remind them of her. :)

ReplyDeleteI collect depression glass - I have an entire dinner set for 8 - complete with serving pieces and s/p shakers. I also have pink depression serving plates. I have 1 huge sets of 1897 Rogers Brothers Newport depression era silver plated flatware with unique pieces such as fish forks, tomato servers and salt spoons. It was a real find. I also love cookbooks (have about 300) especially old Southern ones.AND of course paper and all the machines and tools that go to making papercrafting items. I need a larger house! :-) LOL.
