Pugs don't rake leaves

"Ohhh nooooo! We missed leaf collection day!"

The leaves are almost all down in our neighborhood so I took the pugs outside to take a few pics.

Apparently I was boring Hugo because he couldn't stop yawning.

Then the neighbor rottweiler caught his eye. Oscar was busy wondering when we were going inside for supper.

Fall days

The leaves have changed color and are working hard at vacating the trees.

Today in Rochester however we had record breaking high temperatures.

Oscar and Hugo like to enjoy days like these when they can.

#rocfallfarmtour - Powers Farm Market

If you thought I had given up on my #rocfallfarmtour because Halloween is over, then you would be wrong. I've heard plenty of people mention Powers Farm Market but we had never been. Time to fix that.

Referring back to the list of #rocfallfarmtour must haves...

Cider - they don't make it there but they sell it

Donuts - a nice array. The sour cream glazed are tasty.

Pumpkins - Lots and lots of pumpkins

Apples - plenty of apples too

Inside there is a giant fireplace you can cozy up to. I bet it's nice here around Christmas-time.

Not only do they have apple cider slush but they have loganberry!

I think Powers is known for their giant corn stalk teepees.

Inside they have lots of carved pumpkins lit for display.

And other spooky stuff. Lots of fun for the kiddos.

My favorite part... the petting zoo. Well you couldn't pet the chickens. They only wanted food.

There were plenty of other critters to pet and feed though... a donkey, sheep, deer and goats.

I especially liked the three alpaca. I blew through quarters feeding these guys.

Some day I will have a farmette and my own petting zoo!

#rocfallfarmtour - Wickham Farms

Of all the spots we have vistied on #rocfallfarmtour, Wickham Farms is one we have been to many times before. It is our go to spot for pumpkins.

1. Cider - Wickham makes a cider from their own apples.

2. Donuts - they have lots of donuts to choose from.

3. Pumpkins - of course they have pumpkins. Besides our jack-o-lantern pumpkins, I always pick up a few of of their snack jacks. I go on about these every year. The hulless seeds are delicous roasted.

4. Apples - Several varieties of apples to choose from.

All the best of fall at one of our favorite farm markets.

#rocfallfarmtour - Red Jacket Orchards Farm Store

I guess I wasn't done with leaf peeping because we went out again today.

We went for a Sunday drive in the Finger Lakes.

First I wanted to get a grape pie in Naples since we missed the Grape Festival and then visit the Red Jacket Orchards Farm Store.

I think this qualifies as a stop on the #rocfallfarmtour. They certainly have apples.

And some fantastic cider. Along with more juice varities you can shake a stick at.

I particularly enjoyed the juice sampling station. *glug glug*

They didn't have pumpkins or donuts but there wer other interesting items like this Korean marinade. We also picked up some fall flower honey.

The grape apple juice was on sale, so I had to get one of those! Red Jacket is one of my favorite juices!

Leaf peeping at Letchworth State Park

I wanted to go leaf peeping and Aaron wanted to fly his drone. So we hopped in the car and took a day trip to Letchworth State Park.

I tried out the new Instagram app, Boomerang while we were on the trip.

Letchworth consists of 14,350 acres along the Genesee River.

When @ljc and I went out yesterday - THIS is the video I set out to capture with the drone.

The river has created 600 feet tall cliffs over thousands of years.

The river also has three big waterfall, the largest of which is 107 feet high.

All of it perfect for shooting video and photos with a drone. Look at this amazing video Aaron took of Middle Falls.

Soon after some people came down off the bridge - this beast came rollin by. #fall #train

We walked by the Glen Iris Inn to see the spot where the Ice Volcano formed during the winter.

Can you believe this natural fountain was this giant Ice Volcano last March?

We kept walking up to Upper Falls and the Portage Bridge.

So many nice photo ops along the way.

I think we hit the peak of leaf peeping season.

I haven't taken a foot shot in awhile.

We may or may not have ventured out onto a certain bridge to take photos.

You can't http://blog.ljcfyi.com/images/2015/oct2015/beat the view!

Moments later...

That bridge was creaking and groaning as the train inched across. It WAS built in 1875. Still holding up.

#rocfallfarmtour - Green Acre Farm and Nursery

For the next stop on our #rocfallfarmtour we were back to the west side at Green Acre Farm & Nursery. We were there this summer picking blueberries.

Let's review their fall offerings...

1. Cider - tasty.

Cider slush! Tastier! I wonder if I can get a slushie machine for in my kitchen?

2. Donuts - well fried cakes. They had lot of them.

And they had frosted ones! With sprinkles! Yesssss. *fist pump*

3. Pumpkins - they have plenty of pumpkins. And look at their cool teepee!

There are u-pick pumpkins too. You can pick them right from the pumpkin field.

4. Apples - Plenty of apples to choose from at the Latt Road market. If you are in the mood to pick them yourself, there is U-pick at their West Wind Farm on Manitou Road.

The market at Green Acre farm has a lot to check out. Fruits and veggies, jams and jellies, bird feeders, garden supplies and plants.

I am particularly excited about this party cracker seasoning. It's a party! With crackers!
