Let it be noted that when you buy a bright yellow rain coat, thinking ahead to a weekend of possible rainshowers, and might end up wearing it outside of a broadway theatre stage door in a downpour, even though it was very cute and matches your dog's raincoat... you need to be aware of the distinct difference between waterPROOF and waterRESISTANT.

Enough said.

  1. I know what you mean... if you think about it, all clothing is water-resistant to a point.

  2. Well, now you're in my neck of the woods...there's a measurement of water resistance for fabric, based on a column of water placed on top of a fabric sample. 10 000mm is considered waterproof. 2000mm and up is water resistant. Look for the rating on the tag.
