Pet of the Week

I have to contest the song - "He ain't nothing but a hound dog..." because I think hound dogs are quite nice. Bones here looks especially nice.

Bones #7481152

Bones is a 2-year-old male hound mix. This handsome guy is looking for a home where he can have some room to run and someone to run with him. He is a strong, 70-pound dog who has a lot of energy and a baritone voice he likes to show off. Bones has lived with other pets and children, but he needs to meet any resident dogs or kids just to make sure that everyone will get along. Obedience training will go a long way in helping Bones become the proper gentleman he wants to be. Hound fans, don't miss Bones! - Lollypop Farm

Yudo printed strawberry dishcloths

I have been dying to try out my Yudu and so I made these strawberry dishtowels as gifties for my strawberry picking party.

First I used my overlock machine to sew the towels.

Then I created the design and printed it onto a transparency which I then used to burn the design onto a screen for printing.

Here I am flooding the screen with ink.

I made a bunch of dishtowels. Ok, so they aren't practical dishtowels, they are more just for looking at.

I am really impressed with the Yudu, it exceeded my expectations. I have all kinds of ideas now!

Strawberry Picking Party

I had big plans for today - been planning a strawberry picking party for weeks. The weather had other ideas. Everyone was a trooper, but we had to throw in the towel and head right to the shortcake eating part of the party.

I did get a few pictures at the patch though, like this great one of Sarah and Anna. I think the rainbow umbrella helps!

Aaron was the only one who braved the rain and picked a giant bowl of berries!

Look at this monster strawberry!

Mmmm strawberry shortcake.

Strawberry Tablecloth

It is prime strawberry season here and I have strawberries on the brain. I got out this tablecloth my mom got me. Vintage strawberry tablecloth!

It is in mint condition, so I get a little nervous eating on it. Placemats are key!

Calicos are good luck? And I... learned something today. *packing bags and cans of kitty food for Vegas*

Clara - #7376095

Clara is a 2-year-old female calico cat. Calicos are thought to bring good luck! Clara is looking for some luck of her own in the form of a new home. She was brought to Lollypop Farm with a litter of kittens and went into foster care for a while. Now she is a back at the shelter, spayed, and all ready to be adopted! Clara is a beautiful cat who would make a great addition to your family. - Lollypop Farm

Jake has been adopted, but Dusty is still available.

Wisp and Super Swat

Sometimes you find products you had no idea you needed.

These teeny little Wisp toothbrushes are so cute! I feel kind of guilty, seems like a lot of plastic to throw out for one use. But sometimes you really need a quick brush on the go - coffee, onion sandwich etc.

This caught my eye - Super Swat - swatter sweeper scooper tweezer. The tweezer part really cracks me up. I don't need one of these though. We have Stewie. He is a swatter sweeper scooper eater.

Here comes mint

Remember the mint Aaron planted a few weeks ago?

Look at it now! Soon it will be knocking at the door singing "Feed me Seymour!"

Fancy Oatmeal

I'm on an oatmeal kick and it's not even the middle of winter!

Creme Brulee Oatmeal at Simply Crepes

Bananas Foster Oatmeal at Flour City Diner. I like my oatmeal fancy.

Potato Bins

Aaron and I have talked about planting potatoes but it didn't seem like it would work well in our raised garden. So I found these Smart Pots that you can grow potatoes in.

The spuds are all tucked in - now we wait.

Happy Father's Day

Lookit me and my dad! I was a little corker. So pleased with my first pair of blue jeans! Standing there as though I was a master raker. Hah! Happy Father's Day!

Tomato Trays

Aaron and I are suckers for garden accessories. We are trying out these tomato trays that claim the red color makes the plants grow better.

We put them in place and are hoping for the best. I wonder if the tomatoes aren't supposed to be red (like this heirloom Black Zebra) if the red tray still works.

The garden is coming along nicely.

140 Conference

Yesterday and today I am at the 140 Conference in NYC. This afternoon I spoke on a panel about brands and Twitter. Always a little nervewracking to speak to a crowd but I love to talk about social media!

I took a few pictures while I was on stage and here is a pic of the crowd. Look at all those Mac laptops!

Pet of the Week

Low... ri... der.

Dusty - #7770130

Dusty is an 8-year-old male basset hound mix who was brought to Lollypop Farm because his former owner was having problems that made him unable to care for Dusty any longer. Dusty weighs about 50 pounds and is housetrained. As a hound mix, he loves to follow his nose! His previous home had cats, and he got along well with them. Dusty is eligible for our Seniors-for-Seniors program, so approved adopters age 60 and over can take him home free of charge! He needs to go to an adult-only home and also needs to meet any other dogs in the household.

.15 seconds of fame

Since I was on a tv-screen-picture-taking spree with the Giada pics, I took a picture of the split second that you could see me on the Celebrity Apprentice back in May. Of course I am standing around staring blankly with a glass of cranberry juice and a breadstick in my hand. Classic. Hi Kyle MacLachlan! I liked you in Twin Peaks!

Giada and Envirosax

I was watching "Giada at Home" and I noticed when she went to the market she was using the same green Envirosax bag I have!

She loves how it rolls up so small, you can take it anywhere and it's so cute. Just like I do!

Sugar shoes

I have seen Sugar cosmetics, but I was surprised to see this pair of Sugar shoes. Ah they were technically in the girls (as in not womens) section, but what the heck. They fit.

They did have red bows on the toes I didn't like so I ripped then off and replaced them with these big red buttons!

Don't be crabby!

Things have a way of reoccuring in my life - like "themes".

Aaron got me this balloon for my birthday - he thought the bouncy eyes were funny. (I like the clam with the party hat!) So we started saying this around the house "Who drank the last of the milk?!" "Don' be crabby! It's your birthday!"

Then I was in a gift shop at the Outer Banks and I saw this keychain. So now this keychain gets carried around the house and if even the cat gets a little testy - Don't be crabby!

Ad Age Women to Watch 2009

Last week, while I was at the beach - with no internet connection and a weak, intermittent iPhone signal - this article went to print. (irony!)

I was listed as one of Advertising Age's Women to Watch for 2009! It's so amazing, I can hardly believe it! What an honor!

It was kind of a rush to get the interview in before I left for vacay and get a nice picture taken, but it all came together nicely. So exicting!

Pet of the Week

If Jake could talk, this is what he would say - "I'm soft!"

Jake - #7409839

Jake is a 10-year-old male longhaired cat who was brought to Lollypop Farm after being abandoned. We don’t know much about Jake’s history, but here at the shelter he has become a staff favorite! Jake is one fluffy and friendly cat. This regal looking guy really likes getting attention from people. He enjoys being petted and getting head scratches. When you pet him, you’ll notice that Jake has a beautiful, soft coat. Jake is eligible for our Seniors-for-Seniors program, so approved adopters age 60 and over can bring him home free of charge! - Lollypop Farm

Domo at the beach

I forgot to mention that Domo was at the beach too.

Domo had a good time.

Domo loves the beach.

Did you notice the slightly larger picture size? I made my site a little wider. A new summer banner too!

A few of my favorite pics from the beach.
