After indulging over the holidays and in Las Vegas it was time for Aaron and I to detox. I decided we would start the Martha Steward body + soul magazine Whole Body Action Plan. We bought a juicer and Wii Fit Plus and we are on our way.

The plan starts with a four day detox diet of soup, juice and smoothies. The smoothie at the top is a mango smoothie... or so they claim.

The liquid on the right is how the mango smoothie we made turned out. Seeing as how it also has avocado and swiss chard in it, that shade of green is not surprising. I don't know how they got theirs to be such an appealing color. On the left is the cold cucumber and mint soup we had for lunch on day two of detox. It wasn't horrible - but I won't be craving it anytime soon. We are sticking with the plan - it is only four days. Four days of things like carrot/beet/cabbage/watercress juice.

Are you sticking to the prescribed serving sizes? By the looks of your soup bowl and juice container, it seems like you are. I'm more of a double serving girl and it's hard to stick to the smaller (normal?) sizes.

I particularly enjoy that your detox post comes right after your Donuts Delite post!

I was going thru the 2wk detox book we have and they have awesome juices/ smoothies in there. Thinking I may up my variety next week and try some of these out. LMK if you're interested & I'll bring it in.

I also just got the wii fit, but have yet to use it. I'll be interested to see what your favorites are!

I would MUCH rather have the donuts!

So, what's your verdict on this plan? Did it work, was it tolerable? I'm thinking about a detox too, maybe will try this one. I like this it only lasts for 3 or 4 days. : )

Aprille - YES! Please bring the book in, I would love to see it.

asorense - it definitely worked. I hadn't got on a scale but my clothes fit better. It wasn't just about losing weight - we wanted to be healthier and I do feel like I have more energy. It also has us thinking more about what we eat. Some of the juices were really hard to take but we figured we could do anything for 4 days. I think with some changes the juices could be better.

Linda - yes we are sticking to the serving sizes because we are using the recipes exactly.
