We had our first fire in the outdoor fireplace of the season. Add in hot dogs with lots of celery. Yes, I love chopped celery on my hot dog.
It was a good chance for Aaron to try out this hot dog fishing pole cooker that my sister got him for Christmas.
The fire fishing pole is a neat design. When you jig the pole (jerk it upwards) the rig at the end flips the hot dogs over so you get even cooking.
The nights are getting chilly so that means fires in the outside fireplace and campfire pies. I made us up pizza pies with pizza sauce, sausage, pepperoni and cheese. I was going to add mushrooms but I was worried they were getting too full.
Mmm toasty!

Aaron made a fire in the outdoor fireplace this evening. The wind was howling but we were cozy tucked in under the side porch.
I thought it would be a good time to make some campfire pies. I have to give credit where credit is due. It was Aaron's idea to make meatball campfire pies. Bread + Wegman's frozen meatballs heated up in the oven and sliced + pizza sauce + mozzerella cheese. All Wegmans ingredients! Score! They were fantastic! I burned the first one but after that they were fantastic!
