Autumn sneaking in

The first day of fall doesn't arrive until September 23, but I can feel it creeping in already. I've been trying to hang on with sandals and grilling but I feel my grip on summer loosening.

How can you hold out agains this?!

Don't get me wrong, I love autumn but lately I haven't been ready for it. I'm not ready for earlier nightfall and I'm definately not ready for the impending cold that comes with winter. I don't mind winter either... I like snow and ice skating and hot chocolate. But it is rumored that the Northeast is in for a winter harsher than last year, if that is even possible. When it gets so cold that I can't go outside and do the wintery things I like to do... well that stinks.

Anyone see any wooly bear caterpillars yet? What do they have to say about this winter?!

Season bucket lists

At the beginning of summer my friend Patricia told me she had started a summer bucket list. I thought that was a great idea. I love lists! I put ours on the foyer chalkboard so I could chart my progress everyday.

The result? I addd a few photos of our successes as we went along. We picked a LOT of fruit! Add in peaches as a bonus! I was a little bummed we didn't get out camping this supper but hey... we got a boat! Can't really complain about our summer!

It went so well I started a fall bucket list.
