Today on 1000 Words I wrote about the partnership between Kodak Gallery and slide.com. You can now access your photos on the Gallery to make slideshows on slide.com.

Here is one I made with pictures of Domo.

There are more slideshows I made on 1000 Words.

It's hard to stop making them with every combination of skins and themes.

So Stewie has this little kitty tent we got for him. It has a blanket inside and he likes to lay in there to "get away from it all".

So do others.

Oscar emerging from Stewie's kitty tent.

Lauren trying her best to get into Stewie's kitty tent.

What's a cat got to do get a little privacy?

Our local Targets now have reusable bags. They come in two sizes and fold up nicely with a zipper or snap.

I like the Target tree on the bags that were designed by Wink.

We were supposed to get a lot of snow today so Aaron picked me up from work. We were driving along and almost home when I spied with my little eye something very curious. I yelled "Turn around and park!" I really did shout that and Aaron frantically pulled over as soon as he could. He wasn't even out of the truck and I was halfway down the sidewalk.

What I spotted was this. The warm glow of a brank spanky new bakery! I just love to see new businesses open downtown and I was thrilled that it was a bakery.

I rushed in and started taking pictures in between "I'll have some of these!" and "I'll take one of those!" Check out the goods! MINI CUPCAKES PEOPLE!!!

And single servings of WEDDING CAKE!!! BRILLIANT!!!

This is Nick and Bethany Soures, the owners.... who were very nice and accepting of my bizarre estatic behavior and even let me take a picture of them.

So the name of the new bakery is Goodness Cakes and by new I mean it opened a week ago! It's at 720 University Avenue, in what I think used to be the old police station (now houses a photo gallery too). Edibles and Starry Nite cafe are just a few doors down.

If you happen to stop by be sure to tell them the short crazy girl in the orange coat sent you.

I am no fan of Microsoft, but I am a fan of bunnies, cupcakes, pink stuff and Amy Sedaris. I was poking around Facebook when I hit this Microsoft ad with Amy Sedaris running Dusty Food Cupcakes with rabbits making cupcakes. I about passed out.

Bunnies with Chef hats are making cupcakes on a conveyer belt.

The bakery is pink with pastel colored decor. So cute. I was drooling over her vintage spice jars and mint green phone.

Clover the bunny shows Amy how to use Microsoft to organize her small business that is in disarray. At the end she goes skipping off to a rabbit convention in a bright pink dress. Wonderful! You can watch the video here.

We had a blast at the George Eastman House OSCARS party.

Oscar had a special t-shirt to wear for the occasion.

He came toe to toe with another Oscar.

Everyone had to stop and pet him. I mean everyone.

The band played "Who let the dogs out?" and he went out onto the dance floor. Everyone was taking pictures of Oscar and a lot of people wanted their picture taken with him.

He is going to be really difficult to live with now.

I forgot to post pictures of the January window i did for Sarah's shop.

I made a yarn snowman with styrofoam balls wrapped in white yarn, knitting needle arms and button eyes.

I also used the three snowmen Aaron's great aunt made on a wee sled.

I love doing these window dressings!

For the first time in five years I will not be throwing an Oscars party at my house. We will be going to the GEH party with Oscar.

I did however, offer up some tips for throwing your own Oscars party over at 1000 Words.

I also made some Oscar Party invitations, place cards and star glasses that you can download and print out for your own party.

I am interested if anyone is having an party and if their food is themed like, Ratatouille or Juno tic tacs and Sunny D.

Those of you who feel Stewie has been getting too much of the spotlight and are wanting more Oscar... prepare yourself.

Today on 1000 Words I wrote about how Oscar is the spokespup for the George Eastman House Academy Awards Party®!

Oscar was featured in several ads for the party posing as Heel Oscar Heel, Sit Oscar Sit and Walk Oscar Walk. You can see all the pictures over on 1000 Words. He even has his own MySpace page, www.myspace.com/apugcalledoscar! I am sure he would like to be your MySpace friend!

As you can see, Aaron and I took a backseat in this campaign... we were just there to work with "The Talent".

(these pictures and the ones on 1000 Words were taken by Denise Batiste)

Oscar is going to be attending the party too... walking the red carpet!

I have been writing about the Oscars® all week on 1000 Words. On tuesday I posted a picture of me 10 years ago holding an Oscar®. Gah.

I have been on a bit of baking kick and I think I really need this cookbook. Sticky AND chewy AND messy AND gooey? Yum!

I was reading a New Yorker's blog post about a collection of photos of all 521 chairs at the Visual Studies Workshop and I thought Rochester's Visual Studies Workshop? Yup! It is! Check them out! They would make a cool poster!

I was pretty bummed to find out that LeSportSac is no longer making Tokidoki bags. I was so distraught that I made a frantic bid for one on eBay and then panicked that I might actually win it. The bags are cute but pricey.

It all turned out okay because Aaron got me a Bungalow360 bag for Valentine's Day. (the heart one on the left) They are much more reasonable but still super cute! I love that the business is a one woman show although her support staff page suggests otherwise. $2 of every purchase goes to animal rescue! (check out the pic of the kitty sitting on the pig!) Oscar and Stewie are pleased.

Having seen the success of the Clementine orange, I offered Stewie a bit of strawberry. Also a hit.

Aaron and I made a heart shaped cake for Shruti who was throwing a party for a newlywed friend of hers. Mmmmm... pink and brown!

On the topic of cakes, I just spotted these bunny cake pans at Williams Sonoma. I do love bunny cakes.

I like this picture of the bunny cake the best. Look at his little bunny smile. Totally oblivious to the fact he is about to be consumed with a scoop of chocolate ice cream.

Aaron got me the most amazing balloon ever for Valentine's Day. It's a singing balloon! And it looks a little like him too.

I blogged about the recycled Valentine's candy box picture frames on 1000 Words... with another tip I discovered recently.

I made Candy Bar Cozies for my friends for Valentine's Day.

They were pretty quick to make, they are felt envelopes with hearts and buttons.

I like mixing and matching the colors of felt and buttons.

Each cozy has a yummy bar of dark chocolate tucked away inside.

You can see more pictures of this project and how I made them on my Project Gallery.

These last few bone chilling days, I have abandoned my tea for cups of cocoa. Specifically these single serving packets of holiday cocoa a friend gave me for Christmas.

They are quite possibly the best instant serve cocoa I have had. I typically prefer the work intensive hot chocolate where you heat up milk and melt chunks of chocolate, but that method isn't so great when I am running from meeting to meeting.

These packets were easy but yummy. I think I am going to have to place an online order. If anyone has other recommendations, I would love to hear them.

Stewie likes to eat Clementine oranges. But I have to hold it for him.

Chomp, chomp, slurp, slurp.

Monday, February 11, 2008

I am really excited about this project I created for work. It's a picture frame made from an empty Valentine's Day candy box.

Now you can reuse your heart shaped candy boxes instead of throwing them out. Reduce, reuse and recycle!

It's just the top and bottom of the box glued together with an easel cut in the back for it to sit up on.

Here is a close up shot of the back easel configuration.

You can see more pictures and detailed instructions here. (note: I have added the extra support arm you see above since I wrote up those instructions)

I blogged about it on 1000 Words too.

I ate a lot of chocolate while making these frames by the way.

Sunday, February 10, 2008

I spotted a bunch of t-shirts at Target under the label "Tell the People". i really liked the birds on barbed wire design. They were for men, but the small size fit just fine.

Saturday, February 9, 2008

It is confirmed. People are the comfiest thing to take a nap on.

Mmmm... hmmm.

My toe is finally starting to feel better, but the nail has turned a very odd color. Tina was calling it Tiffany Blue and it so was not Tiffany Blue. I thought it was more purple. So what do designers do when faced with just such a problem? Shruti got out the Pantone swatches.

Well, turns out the nail isn't exactly purple and is certainly is not Tiffany Blue. It's Pantone 550. So there you have it.

Pat at Mille Fiori Favoriti picked me for a You Make My Day Award.

In return I need to pick five blogs that make my day.

I would pick Tina even if she wasn't my best friend and I see her everyday.
