I am loving this Paint and Peel nail polish form Sula! You don't need nail polish remover to take it off.. it peels off! I really dislike nail polish remover so I am loving this! Plus peeling it off is theraputic. It also doesn't have that nasty chemical smell when you put it on.

Aaron's new mint barrel

Oscar and Stewie put their change together and got Aaron an early Father's Day present.

It's half a wine barrel for planting. It even has the winery stamp on the bottom.

He planted a wee mint plant in it.

Oscar and Stewie Outside
Oscar and Stewie enjoyed hanging outside last weekend.

Oscar let Stewie share his lounger.

Stewie spent some time teasing he neighbor dog.

Then two cardinals spent some time teasing Stewie.

They took turns sitting just out of reach on the fence, chirping their heads off. Drove him nuts.

Gardening outfit

The hat I bought at the Great Wall last summer in China is now my garden hat.

I also have a garden apron now too, I always make a mess when I'm potting plants.
So ahhh yeah. I have a complete gardening outfit.

Rubarb

Aaron just harvested some of his rhubarb. He sure does love rhubarb. I could hear him out in the kitchen chopping it up into freezer bags - humming happily to himself.

I took some of the rhubarb and made a strawberry rhubarb pie. That's how I like my rhubarb. Mmmm crumb crust.

Memorial Day Weekend
We had a great Memorial Day weekend. We slept in every morning and had breakfast at our favorite places...

We had the new Starbuck's breakfast sandwiches (good), Jim's Restaurant coffee cake, and Public Market breakfast tacos.

We had iced coffee everyday. Aaron broke down and got one of the double walled cups too, only Venti sized.
Aaron tore down a wall in the basement and started our basement improvement project.

Outside, I planted our window boxes, herbs and then we planted our garden.
A lot of work but we also saw "I Love You Man", "Terminator Salvation", "Night at the Museum" and watched "The Happening" on Netflix.
And we didn't turn the TV on once this weekend!

Ice Cream Cupcakes

Coldstone Creamery has cupcakes now! They are chocolate shells with fudge, a little bit of cake, ice cream and frosting. They come as Sweet Cream, Cake Batter Delux and Double Chocolate Devotion.
Here's the catch, you can't walk in and buy just one... they only come in packs of six. I haven't tried them yet. When I found them, we were heading to a movie and I couldn't eat six myself. If you go... take five friends with you!

Big Aliums!

So my aliums did get big!

Really big! Yay!

Pet of the Week

Check out Chaz! He looks like a smooth operator!

Chaz is a 1-year-old male Akita/Chow mix who weighs about 50 pounds. He was returned to Lollypop Farm after not turning out to be a good fit for his new family. You'll recognize him by the cute little white stripe on his face! Chaz has lived with children before and did well with them, but he needs to meet any kids in the house before going home (and they should be 6+). Chaz would probably be happiest as the only dog in the household, and if he will be living with another pooch, he needs to meet him/her before adoption. He is in a playgroup here at Lollypop Farm and has fun with those dogs. He also loves walks! - Lollypop Farm

Yes Man Soundtrack

As with many movies that I like, I went to check out the soundtrack for Yes Man. I was especially interested because Zoey Deschanel's fake band in the movie - Manchausen By Proxy, made up of Zoey and the San Franciscan band, Von Iva, has songs on the soundtrack.
I was going to get the Manchausen By Proxy songs on iTunes, but it was one of those annoying albums where you have to buy the entire album. Since I didn't want nine Eel songs, I went to Amazon and bought just the ones I wanted, "Uh-Huh" and "Sweet Ballad".
I thought the lyrics were pretty funny and I went to look them up. At first I thought someone did a really bad job capturing the lyrics because where it clearly said "Amoeba Records" and "Trader Joes" the lyrics said "My Records" and "Trader Place". Then Aaron pointed out they probably did have the rights to use those trademarked names... ohhhhh.

Yes Man

Aaron picked up Yes Man from Red Box and I wasn't sure I wanted to watch it. I had sort of sworn off Jim Carey movies, but it turned out to be pretty good and it had Zoey Deschanel in it!

And Zoey rides a scooter! (Aaron says it's an Aprillia scooter)

I love her helmet too! It has eyeballs on it! It totally made watching the movie worth it.

Mowing the lawn

I originally got a push mower because Aaron was stationed in Bahrain and I was scared of gas lawn mowers. Now I am using it again because it is green power. Plus it's a good workout!

Blue mood

So a little more about the sky blue in my last blog post. I tend to go through color phases, and currently it is sky blue. Or maybe you could call it pool blue. It seems to have started with this necklace and bracelet.

Then I found this hand screened paper with goldfish on that I have been using to decoupage little boxes.

The latest is my new suitcase for all the traveling I have been doing. I added the stickers.

Matchy matchy

Today I was in New York to speak on a Media Relations Summit panel about corporate blogging with Debbie Weil and the Real Network blogger, Lacy Kemp. The panel went great but what I really want to focus on here is that WE DID NOT PLAN OUR OUTFITS. What are the chances we all have sky blue on? Sweet.

Pet of the Week

Black Max has a lot going for him.
1. He's soft
2. He's cuddly
3. He has extra toes
4. He is a purr box

Black Max is a 4-year-old male cat who was brought to Lollypop Farm because his family was moving and didn’t take him with them. This time, he is looking having a permanent home! Max is a handsome guy with extra toes and a beautiful, soft coat. He is a very cuddly boy! As soon as you pick him up, he will give you a big hug! He’s a big purrer, too! Max has lived with children and got along very well with them. He has lived with other cats as well but would probably prefer being the only kitty in the house. - Lollypop Farm

Meet Donald

We have a new addition to our household. I have been wanting a fish for awhile, but we were worried about Stewie snacking on it. So Aaron got me a little tank for birthday week (it's post-birthday week this year instead of a pre-birthday week)

And he got me this fella to live in the tank. After my experience with the Celebrity Apprentice last week, I named him Donald.

New Starbucks cup

Now that it is warming up outside I am switching from my Starbucks hot white chocolate mocha to iced mocha coffee. Aaron got me this reusable cup with double walls that doesn't get moisture on the outside. I love it! Problem is I can suck down one of these babies in about 3 minutes flat.

We have aliums!
Three years ago I planted some giant aliums and some mini aliums. The first year only the mini aliums came up. Second year still no giant aliums. I gave up on them. I figured they rotted away or a fat squirrel dug em up and ate em.

Yesterday I noticed something new in the flower bed. They weren't my mini aliums. It was the giant ones! I have no idea what made them decide to come up this year but I hope they bloom as big as my head!

Pug Music Video

Aaron sent me a video today of a French tv show with MGMT performing their song Kids.

Well I love MGMT and I especially love this performance because there are pugs in it. Okay so there are pugs dancing around with girls dressed as Pocohantas and MGMT is dressed as pilgrims, but still.... there are pugs.

Happy Birthday Me!
Aaron got me a yudu for my birthday yesterday! Watch out for t-shirts, dishtowels, placemats, flags...

Stewie had to closely inspect the box of course.

The Celebrity Apprentice

I was in NYC last night for the finale of the Celebrity Apprentice.

It meant I was in for a late night of uploading photos, videos and blog posts, but I did meet a few celebs... Scott Hamilton...

... and Jesse James! (who was one of my favorites on the Celebrity Apprentice!)

Happy Mother's Day!

Oscar and Stewie wanted to make me breakfast for Mother's Day so they helped Aaron make mini dutch babies. After I broke our big cast iron pan *ahem* my mom found us a new big one and threw in an adorable tiny one to boot. It makes the cutest little dutch baby!
That's my mom for you. Thirty five years (and 364 days) later and she is still looking out for me.

Here is picture of me and my mom. Happy Mother's Day mom!!!

It's lilac season again and with that comes the Lilac Festival!

And the Lilac Parade.

This little guy was really happy to be in the parade.

Eye-Fi card
After I got my iPhone I found myself using it to take pictures more and more, even though the quality wasn't the greatest, simply because it was so easy to get the pictures to flickr, facebook and my blog. It really doesn't take that much energy to get out my usb cable and hook my camera up to the laptop, but I still kept using my iPhone and my laptop camera (like with the pics in my last post)

I just got an Eye-Fi card for my camera and it's changed everything. I can't believe how easily it transfers photos to my laptop via wi-fi. I could see them popping up on the computer screen as I took them.

Oscar and Stewie kindly posed for my test photos.

Red streaks

I wanted to do something different with my hair for my birthday next week so I went with red streaks. I haven't taken a good picture of it, but here is a photo of it in Starbucks...

... and one in my office. The two places I seem to spend most of my time!
