Pop Burger

I spotted a girl assisting at our event location with a little wee box with little mini burgers inside. I asked her where she got them and she directed us to Pop Burger.

I love that they are open until 4 am (saved our hungry butts later that night) and the burgers are super tasty. Why is mini food so much tastier?

Earlier that day, I saw a stack of big cards lying on a truck - movie cue cards? - and this one caught my eye. Maybe from a commercial shoot? Either way, it was a cheeseburger kinda of day.

NYC compasses & cupcakes

Tina and I are in NYC for work and i am loving these compasses that someone spraypainted at the exits of the subway stops. I am always discombobulated when I come out of the subway and can't tell which direction I need to go - these helps a lot.

They helped us find our way to Pomme Frites and Butterlane Cupcakes.

As a huge Martha fan, I was over the moon when I got an invite to the Martha's Bloggers' Night Out party at the Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia offices. My eyes were popping out of my head the entire time. Aside from the party, I kept peeking at test kitchens, storage rooms and craft areas. Some display boards were covered with craft paper and my little brain could only imagine the secrets behind them.

The party itself was fabulous! There were stations dedicated to different areas of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia. Weddings, food, crafts, paint, pets, whole living... and often the magazine editors that specialized in that area were manning the tables. I gravitated to the craft table because I was curious how the "around the corner" craft punches worked. I got to try one out and see how they are designed to line up. Happy dance went down when I discoverd there was one tucked into the gift bags given to us when we left!

Mini cupcakes! There were also other finger foods and drinks that can be found in the latest issues of Martha Stewart Living and Everyday Food. They were making smores like the ones on the current cover of Everyday Food.

I just blogged recently about Martha's line of pet products. There was a sneak peek at the Halloween themed items coming out.

Ok. Here is where I really Martha geek out. I read every issue of Living from cover to cover. I have 10 years worth - I know that for a fact because we just moved all of them from the old house to the new. Because I read them so much and have been doing so for so long, I recognized a few of the contributors. I spotted Kevin Sharkey immediately. I have been reading the segments on redoing his NYC apartment in recent issues. He was kind enough to post for a photo and sign the next issue of Living.

I did however, only realize today, that Martha's French Bulldog, Sharkey must be named after him. Right?

I also spied Darcy Miller from Weddings. I really loved the shadow boxes she did for a recent issue of Living, so I had to say hi. (it's completely my fault the pic is blurry, I had been messing with the settings) I think it is awesome that these folks were all there and sharing their passions. I think it is so great when a company recognizes their own rockstars.

To top the night off, I got to share it all with my bloggy buddies Lady M and FourthBreakfast! Can you tell which one of us sat on on top of a tour bus in the blazing sun for 4 hours? Um yeah - I got a little toasted. I feel myself wrinkling before my very eyes. But not even that could dull my Martha high!

NYC photo bus tour

Today I went on a photo bus tour of NYC for work.

I was so busy chatting with bloggers and offering up tips I didn't take very many pictures!

I did manage a couple angle up photos.

It was hot and muggy but everyone had a great time!

Butter Lane Cupcakes

I was in NYC for the day and Shruti and I stumbled upon Butter Lane Cupcakes. They were on "The Best Thing I Ever Ate" so you know they must be good.

Yeah. They were tasty. You can pick chocolate, vanilla or banana cake and then lots of different kinds of frosting... caramel, strawberry, pistachio and more!

And they have cupcake classes!

Beard Papa in NYC

I'm in NYC for the 140 Conference and Aaron is here too for training. It doesn't work out like that very often but we took advantage of it and stopped in at Beard Papas for some cream puffs.

This little guy was waiting at the door... hoping for a cream puff.

Sweet Millions

I am so enamoured with the Sweet Millions New York Lottery commercials. There are billboards with puppies, kittens and bunnies all over New York city. Too much cute.

I tried to find the song in the bunny commercial but it seems it was written just for the commercial and the little bit in the commercial is all there is.

Lil squirt

I am in NYC for a few days for work. I always cut through Manhattan Square Park when I'm near there just to take a peek at the dog park. Look at this little squirt strutting along. Pip pip.

Women to Watch luncheon

I started today off at the Women to Watch breakfast where we were paired up with interns that we could chat with. These gals are some smart cookies - great futures ahead of them.

At the luncheon all the honorees sat on stage and were asked one question. There were 950 people at the luncheon to hear what we had to say!

Here I am with my award! What an amazing event! I am so honored to be included with the other women who were recognized!

Bryant Park

I love NYC's Bryant Park. Not just because it's surrounded by some of my favorite things, Kinokuniya Book Store, Kati Roll, Jamba Juice, Crumbs Cupcakes... but I like the park itself.

Tomorrow is the Ad Age Women to Watch luncheon and I arrived in NYC today. I had work to keep up with so Bryant Park with it's free wireless was my makeshift office.

Here are some of the other cool things they have in the park - almost like an outdoor library - books, magazines and newspapers are available in the Reading Room.

There are ping pong tables...

... and after work concerts and book readings. They also show movies and have free yoga sessions.

Most recently discovered is Lily O'Brien's Chocolate Cafe by Bryant Park. Look at that hot chocolate!

'wichcraft cookies

I have walked by 'wichcraft in NYC many times and thought I might stop by someday when I was hungry for a sandwich. Little did I know one of their tastiest offerings are their cookies! They had them at the media event yesterday and I was hooked! The peanut butter cream'wich are my favorite.

Tina and I risked drowning and a potential lightning strike in Bryant Park during a torrential downpour in order to get some of these cookies to take home. I meant to take a picture of them, but alas, all that is left are the wrappers!

Today was a crazy busy day with a media event for our new products (all of which I love) and in the afternoon...

we met the Compliment Guys on their Brightside Tour! Go check out the video we shot with them. I love what they are doing!

The Celebrity Apprentice

I was in NYC last night for the finale of the Celebrity Apprentice.

It meant I was in for a late night of uploading photos, videos and blog posts, but I did meet a few celebs... Scott Hamilton...

... and Jesse James! (who was one of my favorites on the Celebrity Apprentice!)

Halloween in NYC

I was in NYC for work during Halloween, so Aaron had to hand out candy to the trick or treaters by himself.

He decorated just like I would and added music, a black light and a smoke machine. This is a picture of the front door he sent to my phone. He hung shredded garbage bags for effect.

He did a good job, because he counted 306 trick or treaters this year!!!

Halloween in NYC was interesting. You get used to seeing ghouls riding on scooters and hanging out of taxis.

The day after is interesting too as you find abandoned costumes here and there. This Domo outfit was left on a post. He looks like an evil Domo.

White Castle in NYC

Walking to my hotel I spotted this White Castle. I thought "What the heck?" and went in. I just watched Harold and Kumar. Tastes pretty good at eleven o'clock at night.

That's me on stage (on the right) at BlogHer... answering questions about 1000 Words Blog from Google's Karen Wickre.

It was nerve wracking.... but exciting. I love coming to BlogHer. So much energy and enthusiasm. Makes you want to go out and do it all.
