Standing in line this morning at Starbucks, a women asked me... "It's a boy right?"

"Why yes it is!"

"I am very good at this."

"You sure are."

Friday links to cool off with

Mid summer and it's getting hot out there. Best stay inside and check out these links.

A local Rochester woman is raising goats in the city and is blogging about it. Love it!

I wonder if my cats would like one of these?

Or maybe something like this?

THE cutest thing ever.

The temps are rising in Rochester. This super sleek AC unit looks very appealing.

I need to make this asap.

Excellent game for the office.

Would you stay in one of these in NYC?

There is a spa in Rochester where you can go in and rest with reduced sensory stimulationin a float tank.

8 tips for working with a social media manager

Social media certainly isn't new anymore and neither is the concept of companies and brands using it. Back when I started, there was no such thing as a social media manager. I've been at this for awhile and the one thing I've learned... is that there is always more to learn.

That's why I wrote this article for iMedia.com... 8 ways to get the most out of your social media manager. It maybe should have been 9. Bringing her cookies helps too.

16 Weeks Baby Bump

Yup. An official baby bump photo - side view and all. Because today is a landmark day. Today is 20 weeks... the halfway point. I'm still feeling good but the belly has definitely popped. It's looking more like a baby baby than a taco baby.

The most interesting development... I started to feel him moving a week ago. I was told it feels like a fluttering, like butterfly wings. Not this guy. It feels like marbles roling around. Bubbles popping if he isn't particularly engergetic. I feel them everyday and it's a freaky but cool thing. Kinda like being a mom I guess... freaky but cool.

Hair springs

When we were in Korea a couple years ago, I hit up a drug store to see what intersting things I could find. I love going into grocery stores and drug stores in other countries. Besides my favorite eyelash curler ever, I discovered these springy hair twists. Really twisty. Like an old fashioned phone cord. I imagine that is what all the old school phone manufacturers are pumping out these days.

Anyhoo, they quickly became my favorite hair accessory. But as all good tiny things.. they disappeared one by one. The cats look guilty but aren't talking. Luckily a quick search on Amazon turned these up. And in different colors! Crisis averted.

Homearama 2016

Tina asked me along to this summer's Homearama. I haven't been to one in years so I was curious to see what was new and exciting in home building.

I wish I had taken more photos! I took a few Snapchats here and there but mostly we were busy opening every door and peering into every pantry.

Some highlights:

Instead of a front porch, one house had a small courtyard that opened into the front door and a side hall, all covered by a pergola.

A living room fireplace that was also open onto the patio on the other side. There were three big sliding doors onto the patio, two in the living room and one into the dining room for a really big outdoor feel.

All the patios were impressive with built in fireplace and fire pits.

Kitchen with walk in pantries complete with wood shelves and marble counters. One house had a microwave that went under the counter and slid open like a drawer. Tap to close.

Impressive finished basements. One had a cool marbleized epoxy floor.

Tina was especially drooling over the kitchens. And this very expensive stove/oven with a hot water faucet above.

Outside I was amused by the robot lawn mower.

Robomower at Homearama. I think I'd rather have a goat.

Another treat was to find some food trucks there. I got this really tasty pizza that helped fuel all the cupboard peering and closet peeking.

Milkshakes for National Ice Cream Day

Today is National Ice Cream Day and what better way than to celebrate with milkshakes and my bestie?

Tina found out about a milkshake event at a local distillery, Honeoye Falls Distillery.

Yeah the milkshakes were boozy but I was able to get mine without the alcohol. They had some nice brunch items to go with.

I got the breakfast tacos and then ate a good portion of Tina's delicous chicken and waffles.

The highlight was really the milkshakes though. There is a slice of pecan pie on top of mine!!!

Look how happy Tina is!

Afterwards we took a tour of the distillery and I was really impressed with their story.

Made with local grain!

Impressive equipment.

Sometimes you have to wait for something good. What a great way to spend a day all about ice cream!

Pokémon Go craze

Yes. I downloaded the Pokémon game and I've tried it out. I caught a Venonat in the Wegmans parking lot.

My mom told me over the phone "Are you playing that game?! Don't walk off a cliff!" I told her I HAD to try it. For my job I have to understand these things!

I did end up referencing it in a Facebook post for the Animal shelter because there is a Poke Stop there. Visit the shelter to catch a Pokemon, go home with a real live critter!

Found another fun new app called Prisma and the cats and pugs are my guinea pigs.

Wienermobile after hours

Today is National Hot Dog Day and the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile is in Rochester!

I happened to catch it after hours in the East Ave Wegmans parking lot, so I could get a picture with no one oogling it.

Luckily I have had a chance to see the Wienermobile before and even got my weenie whistle.

I think it's the cheeriest thing you could see on the road. I love the vanity plates!

Happy Birthday Sis

Happy 30th Birthday to my little sister Emily! With 13 years between us, she was sort of a pain in the neck as a kid. She is pretty cool now though : )

Cat antics

I don't have anything to say about this lounging cat but... ridiculous.

He was a little embarrassed later.

Stewie maintains his dignity at all times.

They were in rare form this evening. Wyatt as a cat loaf.

Both of them staring at me like I owe them money.

And then this. The closest I've seen them come to snuggling. And on such a hot evening too!

Sunday night chillaxin. #cat #catsofinstagram

Veggies starting

There are hints of activity in our veggies beds. Eggplant blossoms.

Lots of zucchini blossoms.

Some promising peppers.

Mulch away

We had a mulching party today and mulched all the flower beds. Sometimes it feels like an exercise in futility because you pack in the mulch and next year... it's all gone. Where does it go? It makes the flower beds look so nice though!
