My mom found a bottom half of a brown onion Pyrex casserole. After watching Pyrex Lovers on Flickr for months she spotted Gracie's Pyrex who had an extra lid. I got in touch with Gracie and she was so nice to send me the lid (I paid shipping). Now I have the complete casserole. Pyrex collectors are the best kind of people. : )
I am hopelessly addicted to Angry Birds on the iPhone. Thanks to Aprille, I blew my way through the free version and am working my way through the paid version. I just downloaded the Halloween version even though it's almost December. I have gone on to infect Aaron, Tina and my mom with the Angry Bird flu also.
I love all the spin offs from Angry Birds - check out this Angry Birds cake, a very cool ornithological illustration of the Angry Birds and this video of the Angry Birds/Pigs peace treaty (warning - the birds drop the f-bomb).
One of the things I like best are the stuffed Angry Birds and pigs that you can buy. What a great holiday gift!
Look at #6 on this list of "10 Pictures of Dogs Lusting After Turkey". That's Oscar in my Grandma's kitchen two years ago, lusting after the turkey my Grandma just pulled out of the oven. I took a similiar picture last year too. I should have taken one this year... it was the same scene really.
We finished painting the living room. The view facing east.
Facing west. We still have a little spot to do over the window... Aaron has some patching to do there.
Facing south. It looks blue sometimes but the color is Serious Gray from Sherwin Williams.
We made a life changing discovery while painting the living room. I was dreading painting because almost all the rooms have picture frame moulding on the walls. That was going to be a LOT of taping off. Then I started to think - what if I didn't tape off? What if I cut in by hand? Turns out that worked just fine. We have steadier hands than I thought. Now all I can think about is all the time and tape we wasted in the past.
Another big time saver was the power roller we got.
A steady stream of paint and no drips made rolling the paint on go much faster also.
I think the gray really makes the white trim pop.
The windows and bookcases really stand out.
I couldn't wait to put all our stuff back on the shelves.
I really like the gray.
Now to figure out what art to put on the walls.
We are home for Thanksgiving.
Aaron and I got up early to help my Grandma with the turkey. I stuffed it.
I made these pinecone turkeys for everyone. One for each table placesetting. I got the idea from Martha - and made a few changes. Googly eyes make everything better.
Cutting the cord update.

• we kept cable internet
• Aaron got a digital antennae - about the size of rabbit ears
• Netflix is running through the Wii
I was surprised to see how clear and sharp the reception is through the digital antennae. We get all the major networks plus some others like CoolTV. Netflix is running well through our Wii - watched Alice in Wonderland and the old Willy Wonka. My fav shows haven't been on yet, so I can't report on how it is either trying to catch the live or watch them online. We are leaning towards Boxee for watching shows when we want like House, Bones and Fringe all my favs and all on Fox.
So far, so good.
I would call her Penny for short. She looks like Stewie but yellower.

Penelope is a 1-year-old female domestic shorthair mix who weighs 10 pounds. This pretty kitty was brought to Lollypop Farm because her owner had too many pets to care for. Penelope is an energetic little girl who is great company. But, once in a while she also likes a break in the action. She is looking forward to playing with a cat toy with you! We are cutting the cord. After years of having one cable monopoly to choose from, waiting for someone to show between 8 and 4 for service, paying for channels I don't watch but come in the "package deal" and most recently threats of a network with my fav shows being dropped... we are dropping cable and looking at alternatives.
Aaron has been ready to do this for years but I wasn't. Getting rid of cable felt like a step backwards. I loved our DVR and watching shows when I wanted to watch them. With all the new alternatives now however, this feels like a step into the future. There are blogs and tweets and articles all about cutting the cord.
The big eye opener was streaming Netflix through our Wii. It all became so much more doable. Over the past few days we have looked at Google TV, Apple TV, Vudu, Amazon Video, Hulu Plus, Boxee and Roku. We are down to choosing between Boxee and Roku. We'll see how it goes.
Aaron and I have been working in the living room painting the walls. Aaron set up one of his work lamps to help light up what we are doing.
The lamp is pretty warm and Oscar has taken to sitting in front of it like a heat lamp. It's like a tanning booth for pugs.
Word got out and now Stewie sits in front of it too. They take turns sitting in front of it roasting themselves like rotisserie chickens.
I love pens so I was pretty excited when I got a sample pack of pens from Jet Pens! I really liked the one second from the bottom - it is a white correction pen! I didn't even know there was such a thing - perfect for fixing mistakes. The fifth one from the bottom was just about the thinnest fine point pen I have ever used. The Brushables were fun to use... fine point on one end and a brush on the other.
My favorite pen has been this Pentel Brush Pen. I have been using for cards and gift tags. I don't think I would have thought I could use it the way I have been.

Shame on me for rushing Christmas but I can't help myself. i saw these holiday Junior Mints and had to get a box. I just love a little crunch. Why does a bit of crunch make things taste so much better? If all food was mini and had crunch I would be in big trouble.
I just wanna boop him on the nose. What a cutie.
Parker #11455558
Parker is a handsome 3-year-old male Pit Bull mix, who has become a Lollypop Farm staff favorite! He weighs 74 pounds and is a super friendly, laid-back kind of guy who likes people and other dogs. He has been at Lollypop Farm since September. Parker has nice house manners and is house-trained, although he has been known to beg for table scraps! He sits nicely while his collar is put on, and does quite well on the leash. We recommend Parker attend training here at Lollypop Farm with his new owner to help get the relationship off to a great start. Parker can get very excited when it's time to play, so a home with children over the age of 12 is recommended. Parker has lived with cats and dogs and got along well, but he should still meet any dogs in your home to make sure that everyone will be friends! Parker can’t wait to meet you!
Snuggles, the cat from last week, is still waiting to find her new home.
When we were at the cabin I was amazed at how many acorns there were everywhere. I've never seen them like that.
The weird thing was they were already sprouting.
I brought a couple home to plant in pots to see if they grow.

I love these last few warm days of fall.
Aaron and I helped rake leaves around the cabin. I don't know how we managed with our wee T-rex arms.
Oscar wasn't much help.
This weekend Aaron and i went to PA to stay at the cabin with my fam. Oscar enjoyed running around the mountain.
He is a mountain pug.
And he likes hanging out with his cousin Wally.
Whazzat?!
I spotted a girl assisting at our event location with a little wee box with little mini burgers inside. I asked her where she got them and she directed us to Pop Burger.
I love that they are open until 4 am (saved our hungry butts later that night) and the burgers are super tasty. Why is mini food so much tastier?
Earlier that day, I saw a stack of big cards lying on a truck - movie cue cards? - and this one caught my eye. Maybe from a commercial shoot? Either way, it was a cheeseburger kinda of day.
Tina and I are in NYC for work and i am loving these compasses that someone spraypainted at the exits of the subway stops. I am always discombobulated when I come out of the subway and can't tell which direction I need to go - these helps a lot.
They helped us find our way to Pomme Frites and Butterlane Cupcakes.
