Ljc's Holiday Gift Guide - Earth Friendly Fashionista

For the earth friendly fashionista... Figs & Ginger Jewelry.

For the person on your shopping list that loves jewery, you have to check out Figs & Ginger. They are my favorite jewelry designers.

Not just because of the ridiculously cute woodland creature designs but because of their Earth friendly practices such as using recycled/reclaimed metals.

They have bird necklaces that are perfect for moms because you can choose 1 to 4 baby birds to sit on the branch with the mama bird.

They recently added some new designs like hedgehogs and whales. Figs & Ginger just sent me (disclosure) these little whale earrings last month to try out. They are so simple, I love them!

Any of the Figs & Ginger designs would make a sweet little package under the tree - or maybe a treat for yourself!

Ljc's Holiday Gift Guide - Geek Gourmet

I decided to try something new this year and share some of my favorite things and gift ideas for the holidays.

For the Star Wars geek gourmet... Williams Sonoma Star Wars cooking tools.

If you are lucky enough to have a Star Wars geek that likes to cook in the house these are perfect for your shopping list. It makes up for that AT-AT they didn't get when they were eight AND gets you some tasty Yoda head pancakes for breakfast on Sunday. Win win situation.

If you are looking for some more gift ideas for the geek in your life check out Thrifty Nerd's gift guide! Glorious!

New rug

To celebrate the first room painted and our one year anniversary in the new house we got a big rug for the living room.

We got something to match the grey paint and also... the animals. We strategically chose a rug that both their fur would blend with. They seem to like it.

More blue

I got another hit of blue today. It turned out a lot darker this time. I like it!

Fall to Winter

I took some cool photos when I was home for Thanksgiving.

Did you know this is what asparagus looks like in the fall? This is a wild patch growing in my Grandmother's back yard.

It glowed in the sunlight like it was on fire.

One morning I got up and the ground was covered in frost. Even leaves looked like they were sprinkled with glitter.

Pet of the Week

Heh-row. *snuff snuff snuff*

Zeus # 11651347

Zeus is a 1 year old Pit Bull/mix, who is a very muscular 58 pounds. Zeus came to Lollypop Farm in October because his owner could no longer afford to keep him. He is a bit shy around quick movement, but quickly warms up and is eager to get outside. Zeus loves going for walks, takes treats with a big slurp and has lots of energy for playtime. Training is recommended, and a group class might be too distracting for him, so our staff trainer will schedule a private session for Zeus and his adopter at a discounted rate. This young boy is quite playful and will need to meet all resident dogs to make sure they will be buddies. A home with children over the age of 16 is suggested. Zeus can’t wait to work with his adopter to make him the best he can be!

Penelope, the cat from last week, is still waiting to find her new home.

Tweep of the Year

Sometimes I get the distinct feeling work-me is more popular than regular-me. Work-me is nominated for Rochester Insider's Tweep of the Year. Regular-me isn't.

Here is the link if you would like to vote for work-me. It's kind of a pain because it's all through Facebook, but there you have it.
