Oscar and Hugo have enjoyed being at my parent's house immensely. They get to run around off the leash. Every leaf, stick and tree has been thouroughly sniffed!

Thinking about the Pittsford Farms Dairy Midnight ice cream I have in the freezer at home. Mmmm.

Right before we left for Thanksgiving I noticed that my Meyer Lemon was finally starting to turn yellow! It's going to be a one lemon feast!

My grandma had two wreath frames so I gathered branches off of her pine trees and handmade two wreaths.

I made one for on my Grandma's door.

And one for on my Grandpap's grave.
It was a lot easier than I expected. I googled "how to make a wreath" and made it up from there.

I have decided that Pennsylvania is the potato chip capital of the world.
Some faves... Gibbles, Kay and Rays, Martins, Herr's, UTZ, Middleswarth... hmm... am I missing one?

It was a five dog Thanksgiving yesterday. Everyone was in town. Hugo took a liking to my sister's dog Bronson. They played a lot of tug of war.

Traditional yearly photo of pug wistfulness.

My sister and ye olde turkey leg.

Wishbone-off. I won this year.
And yes, my sister has wrinkly little hands just like me.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Tuxedo cat! Always dressed for the occasion!

Meet Cinderella, a beautiful 6-year-old female cat with a soft black and white tuxedo fur coat. Cinderella was found as a stray and brought to Lollypop Farm for a second chance. She’s a little sad in her cage and can’t wait to have a new home where she can run and play! She loves attention and will snuggle in close to get hugs and kisses! She has a great motor and purrs up a storm to let you know she’s a happy girl. This little lady is available in the Seniors-for-Seniors program, so adopters age 60 and older can take her home free of charge. If you are looking for an affectionate companion and one awesome cat, Cinderella might be the one for the job. She’s an absolute sweetheart and can’t wait to meet you!
Pickles, the dog from last week was adopted!

I just got us a toast stamp - one of those things you never knew you needed.

My first attempt at using it... oh the irony.

This evening was the season finale of ROC Roller Derby and it was a humdinger.
I was pretty excited in the first place because the theme was Scar Wars... I kept seeing these Darth Vader derby posters all over town and I wanted one so badly. My friend Jack was able to hook me up!
The first bout between B-sides and Assault city went to a tie-breaking jam and Roc won by one point!
The second bout featured the Roc Stars agains Harrisburg Pa's Nuclear Knockouts... Harrisburg is near Aaron and I's hometown! We rooted for Roc though and they won that one too! Great night for roller derby!

Nothing sadder than pugs huddled on a heat vent.

Yeah. Me and my peeps went to the midnight showing of Twilight: Breaking Dawn. It was us and fifty teenagers. Heh.

Pickle! Do I really have to say anything more?

Are you ready to fall in love? Pickle is just the cutest little guy! He's a bit sad becuase he is at Lollypop Farm for the second time. He first came to the shelter as a stray and now he is back because the other pets in his new home didn't adjust well to his presence. Pickle is a high energy dog who loves to play chase and tag. He's just over 3.5 years old, weighs a very petite 11 pounds and is brimming with personality. Pickle has a tail that wags non-stop. He has good leash manner and know sit, although he doesn't stay put for very long. This busy little fellow is eager to find a family that can give lots of love and attention as well as lots of exercise and play time. In return, Pickle will reward you with his love and devotion.
Frieda, the cat from last week is still waiting to be adopted.
Guess what you could dress Pickle as every Halloween? Yeah that's right!

Stewie was just wondering... how many more days until Thanksgiving?
I have been cracking up over a lot of Someecards like this Twitter one.
Then I realized that I could be imparting my own wisdom through someecards. Like the answer to all life's problems....

The answer to most proposals...

How to stay in touch...

... and how to impress people...

Every year we miss the Nutcracker in Rochester because we go home to PA for Thanksgiving. This past summer while Aaron was stationed overseas, he somehow got word that the Moscow Ballet would be performing the Nutcracker while we were in town.

He called them to get tickets and they loved the story so much that they even had us on their homepage! (the caption under our picture does have us listed as Kissy Doll and Johnny Weir however - hah!)

We had almost forgotten about it until I spotted an article in the newspaper that the ballet was this weekend! We had great seats in the orchestra.

I had never seen the Nutcracker live before and it was fantastic. I think I smiled through the entire show!

I wanted to do something fun for Aaron's welcome home party so we went to Rohrbachs Brewery for a tour and beer tasting.

Took the tour.

The beer enthusiasts were engrossed.

It was good to see everyone and catch up.

Aaron was especially glad to hang out.

A party isn't complete without a theme and favors so I made these customized bags of Cracker Jacks. It was totally worth all the time it took to cut out all the little Aaron heads.

Little cat = big love.

Frieda is a beautiful 1-year-old female cat who comes in at a very petite seven pounds. She was found as a stray and brought to Lollypop Farm. Frieda is very sweet, and a little on the shy side, so a quiet home might be the best place for her. She can take a little while to get comfortable in new surroundings, but once she comes out of her shell, she'll be a great addition to your family!
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. You don't the stress of black friday shopping but you still have a focus on food, family and reflection.

There aren't as many decorations for Thanksgiving... which can be a good thing... they don't show up at stores right after the Fourth of July... but I do enjoy putting out the items I have collected. Mostly turkeys.

I always keep an eye out for turkeys.

I especially enjoy saying things around the house like - "Have you seen the little Aaron candle holders?"

Hah hah. Turkey humor never gets old for me.
Some of my favorite things to post on Pinterest are new dishes to try out in the kitchen.

I have a board called Nom Nom. If I can't decide what to make for a party or occasion, I go to this board and scroll through.

Just recently I pinned this recipe for Potato Rings. They look soooo good! "It's like onion rings only not!"
I am so excited for the Muppet movie coming out at Thanksgiving. I was a big Muppet fan as a kid and I still love them.
I cracked up when I discovered that OPI put out a line of nail polishes inspired by the Muppets. The nail colors are....
Animal-istic, Meep-Meep-Meep, Wocka Wocka, Pepe's Purple Passion, Designer de Better!, Warm & Fozzie, Rainbow Connections, Excuse Moi!, Gone Gonzo, Fresh Frog of Bel Air, Divine Swine and Gettin' Miss Piggy with It.
Hiiarious!

OPI also has computer desktop patterns on their site too. Cool.

One of the first things Aaron wanted to do was blow and rake leaves. The quintessential autumn pastime. A leaf pile makes me think of the Peanuts Gang...

And Calvin and Hobbes.
