For the first time, Aaron was able to join me for a Janda Made craft show!
We had a table at Rochester Mini Maker Faire where we sold bird feeders, bird houses and mason jar lamps. Aaron worked on lamps right at the table so people could watch.

We had a lot of fun seeing friends and meeting new people. And it was great doing a show together!
What a crazy busy weekend! Tina and I had a table at the Mayday! Underground Crafts and Arts Market at Village Gate.
It went from 10am to 5pm both Saturday and today so our dogs were barking by the end of it. But it was totally worth it! We still get giggly when we see our little biz names, Janda Made and Sweet & Cute in writing.
I think this was our busiest show yet! There was a constant flow of shoppers stopping by.
Aaron and I had a new lamp design at the show - a large double steampunk lamp. Sold!
And I sold out of all my bird feeders in the first two hours of the first day so I had to make more Saturday night. I ran out of the usual galvanized bottoms and had to use these plastic ones, but I think they look cute with colored pan lids.
In all I sold nine bird feeders, five alien robot lamps and two of the large steampunk lamps!
Tina sold out of her coffee syrup and didn't have too many of her other goodies to pack up either.
Best of all we got to hang out and catch up all weekend. : )
Aaron came tonight to help me pack up the table and then we went to Nox at Village Gate for some comfort food to celebrate. It is the coolest spot. It is decorated in a sort of theme that a book reading, sci fi loving, geekish type might love. There are paintings of Tardis and menu items named Admiral Ackbar’s Last Stand. Nox is the name of the Greek goddess of night which is fitting because it's a great spot to hang out in the evening.
This weekend I will be a the Mayday Underground Crafts + Art Market with new Janda Made products! We have these steampunk lamps made from upcycled mason jars, pipe and reclaimed wood.
They come in peace! These little guys remind me of alien robots. Something from Mars Attacks or Futurama.
The market will be at Village Gate Saturday and Sunday, November 7+8 from 10am to 5pm. Tina will be there with her Sweet and Cute goodies too! If you are in Rochester stop by to start your Christmas shopping and say hi.

Exciting news! Aaron has started making these cool Steampunk lamps with pipes, reclaimed wood and mason jars for Jandamade. We will have them for sale at the November 7 and 8 Mayday Underground Indie Craft Fair. Just in time for holiday shopping. Be sure to check back, he will be making different styles and designs.
Today was Rochester Mini Maker Faire. I was excited right off the bat to get my MAKER badge.

She was working right in her booth. A lot of people stopped by to watch her working and ask questions. I especially enjoyed watching her pop balloons.
As an extra I was making free* "I love to make... " pins at the Janda Made table. (*while supplies last) Guests could fill in what they love to make and I turned it into a button right there.
There were some really great buttons! I got a kick out of seeing what people wrote.
Tina (of Sweet & Cute) and I are attending Rochester Mini Maker Faire this Saturday to sell our creations. I have been working on a new line of Janda Made gourd birdhouses.
I finally figured out just the right tool to use on my wood burner to get a nice line on the gourds.
I have also been experimenting with dyes rather than paint. I think they are more natural looking which is good for attacting birds.
I also made this little guy. He is small enought to fit in the palm of my hand. I call him "Scope Creep" because I made him when I should have been working on the birdhouses.
I will also have Janda Made mason jar birdfeeders for sale.
And I made a new batch of Janda Made silverware plant markers. Looking forward to Maker Faire!

I tried some new covers using melamine bowls instead of pot lids.
Also with slightly different bottoms.
I have a skillset that makes me especially suited to making mason jar bird feeders. My hand fits inside the jars.

The day turned out to be unseasonably cold and rainy but Aaron saved our butts by bringing us a propane heater. There were a few moments of sunshine here and there.
Long enough for me to dart out and get a selfie with a patrol horse.
It was a tough day for selling with the weather but I still had fun hanging out with my peeps!
After weeks of preparation and mad crafting, the South Wedge Holiday Craft Bazaar is finally here. It was 30 degrees with an occasional snowflake but it was so much fun.
My handmade Shiny Brite Christmas ornament wreaths on display. I had one person show up before the sale even started to buy this wreath. She wanted to make sure she got that particular wreath!

The sale went really well but really the best part was hanging out with these two and also seeing more friends that stopped by to browse and say hi.
Last year I made little winter dioramas in jars. This year my mom thrifted two wee cloches so I used those to make holiday scenes. I especially love the tiny VW Beetle hauling home a Christmas tree.
My mom also thrifted a big box full of glass chimneys. She thought I could fill them with ornaments and lights but I had another idea.
They are perfect for making winter dioramas! I create the scene inside then use my Cricut to add a holiday carol line to the chimney. I was going to etch them as I mentioned before, but couldn't etch the tempered glass.
Aaron made me the stands to hold the chimneys.
These will be for sale at the South Wedge Holiday Bazaar on Saturday.
